Stable Homes - Secure Jobs
The number one priority right now is to get people back to work.

jobs Get people back to work. A long-term program to rebuild our infrastructure can be one way that is better for us than sending troops to fight in other lands.

There are more people out of work than any time since the Great Depression. Foreclosures are up sharply from last year and food-stamp use in Snohomish County increased 50% from 2008.

In order to return to a natural unemployment rate of 4 or 5 percent, we will need to create more than 20 million jobs. As Congressman, I believe the quickest solution to creating jobs in the U.S. should be to develop a long-term program to rebuild our roads, schools and bridges, as well as modernize our power distribution and water systems.

The United States is the only nation among the industrialized nations not to have a significant "buy domestic" procurement program. Rather than use U.S. tax dollars to stimulate the Chinese economy, I will support legislation that requires our government to start buying American to bolster domestic manufacturing.

As a REAL Democrat in Congress, I will oppose any unfair "free-trade" deals that ship our jobs overseas! Our incumbent is a free-trader. And he has had 10 years to bring jobs to our district, but he has failed to do so. This election should cost him his job...for a change.
