Require publicly financed campaigns, to limit the power that corporations exercise over campaigns, then over the officials which they elect, and paper ballots as the base of verifiable elections.

Have publicly financed campaigns, where every candidate has the same amount of money as all the others, after meeting the threshold requirements to qualify for the publicly funded system.

If you cannot trust the way your votes are counted, nothing much else in politics matters! Recognize and fix all the leaks in our balloting and counting systems!

I believe that in order to maintain trustworthy elections and "SARA" (Secure, Accessible, Recountable and Accurate) results, we must have no "leaky buckets" -- that all the potential holes in the elections system must be plugged, including:

• have paper ballots;
• use the paper ballots for auditing;
• have only stand-alone machines - no internet or LAN;
• and nothing else amiss.

We owe our children and grandchildren a state and a nation at least as democratic as the ones our parents left us, and we owe them an example that they will be proud to follow.

As your next Representative for the 2nd Congressional District, I will work diligently to forge legislation that ensures the integrity of our campaigns and our elections systems.
