Clean Air, Water, and Land
We must craft a sustainable balance of energy and natural resources
We can clean up our environment, stabilize the climate, create good new jobs, boost our economy, and reduce our dependence on non-renewable energy, all at the same time, by clean and sustainable energy sources and more local food production. The vast majority of scientists worldwide agree that the use of fossil fuels - oil, gas and coal - for energy intensifies and accelerates global warming. However, big financial interests have thwarted meaningful legislation to develop sources of clean and sustainable energy even as their sources of wealth decline. The good news is that we can clean up our environment, stabilize the climate, create good new jobs and boost our economy, all at the same time. Other nations already are wisely investing in alternate sources of energy, and we risk being left behind as the rest of the world recognizes the dire consequences of business as usual, develops new technologies, and reaps the profits.
As your next Representative for the 2nd Congressional District, I will work diligently to forge legislation that meets the challenges of climate change. |
